PKF O'Connor Davies, a leading US-based accounting, tax, and advisory firm, has officially welcomed Denisse Moderski to its State and Local Tax (SALT) practice as a new partner. Moderski will be based in the company's New York City office, bringing a wealth of experience to the team.

With almost 15 years of expertise in state and local tax advisory services, Moderski has provided guidance to a diverse range of clients, including private equity firms, investment funds, privately held businesses, and corporate taxpayers. Her primary focus lies in state and local income and franchise tax, where she has a proven track record of assisting clients with intricate multistate tax issues and optimizing tax efficiency. Benjamin A. Beskovic, leader of PKF O'Connor Davies' Tax Service Line, expressed his enthusiasm for Moderski's appointment, highlighting her technical proficiency, practical approach, and dedication to client service as valuable assets to the SALT practice. He emphasized that her extensive experience in complex multistate matters will significantly bolster the firm's capacity to identify opportunities for clients and navigate evolving tax regulations.

Moderski's comprehensive work encompasses critical areas such as apportionment and sourcing, multistate tax planning, nexus, pass-through entity tax planning, restructuring, and state tax controversy. Furthermore, she has advised on state tax considerations in mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions, including tax due diligence, transaction structuring, and post-transaction planning. A certified public accountant in both New Jersey and New York, Moderski is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. This appointment follows the recent addition of Thomas R. Lemon as a partner in the firm's commercial tax practice earlier this month, further strengthening PKF O'Connor Davies' leadership team.

The strategic expansion of PKF O'Connor Davies' leadership team, particularly within the crucial State and Local Tax practice, underscores the firm's unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional client service and navigating the complexities of modern taxation. These appointments signify a proactive approach to addressing the evolving needs of businesses and ensuring robust, forward-thinking tax strategies in an ever-changing financial landscape.
