Netflix is enhancing its content lineup with a special focus on actor Rob Lowe this holiday season. The streaming giant is preparing to launch a documentary titled “Rob Lowe: The Outsider,” which delves into the star's career journey. Concurrently, Lowe’s popular podcast, “Literally! With Rob Lowe,” is expanding its reach through a new collaboration with Netflix and SiriusXM, introducing video episodes. These projects coincide with Lowe's appearance in an upcoming Netflix holiday movie, solidifying a significant partnership between the actor and the platform.

Scheduled for a November 24 debut, “Rob Lowe: The Outsider” chronicles the veteran actor's professional life. The film explores his formative roles in classic movies such as “The Outsiders” and “St. Elmo’s Fire,” extending through his critically acclaimed performance in “The West Wing,” which earned him an Emmy nomination. The documentary also examines how Lowe has successfully sustained his presence and relevance within the competitive landscape of Hollywood over several decades. Directing credits go to Chris Smith, known for “Tiger King,” while executive production is handled by Marc Gurvitz, Jon Liebman, and Zoe Rogovin. Chris Smith, Sydney Schwartz, and Stacy Smith from Library Film are producing the project.

Further strengthening his media footprint, Rob Lowe's podcast, “Literally! With Rob Lowe,” is entering a new phase. From December 3, the podcast will be accessible on Netflix and SiriusXM as part of a fresh collaboration. This partnership will see more than thirty existing episodes made available on the streaming service, with brand new video episodes premiering every Thursday. Lowe himself developed and hosts the podcast, also serving as an executive producer alongside Nick Liao, Adam Sachs, and Jeff Ross. Sean Doherty of Team Coco is involved in the production, with Sean Calvano as associate producer.

Adding to Lowe's busy holiday schedule is his role in the Netflix festive comedy “In A Holidaze,” which is set to premiere on December 2. The movie also features Maddie Ziegler, a former cast member of “Dance Moms.” Inspired by the novel penned by Christina Lauren—the joint pseudonym for writers Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings—the story centers on Ziegler's character, a young woman trapped in a Yuletide time-loop. She is compelled to repeatedly experience the same Christmas festivities at her family's retreat until she uncovers the genuine source of her joy. Graham Phillips and Elias Kacavas are also part of the cast, with Tiffany Paulsen both directing and writing the film. Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton of Alloy Entertainment are producing.

Rob Lowe's multifaceted presence on Netflix, encompassing a documentary, an expanded podcast, and a leading role in a holiday film, underscores his enduring appeal and adaptability in the entertainment industry. This strategic collaboration offers audiences a diverse range of content, from a retrospective look at his career to fresh audio-visual experiences and festive cinematic escapism, ensuring a robust and engaging holiday season for his fans and new viewers alike.
