The eagerly anticipated prologue demonstration for Monster Hunter Wilds has officially been released on the Switch 2 eShop, as confirmed by Capcom. This gives players an early opportunity to delve into the upcoming title.

This pre-release version allows cooperative play with friends and family locally. Furthermore, any progress made within this demo will seamlessly carry over to the complete game when it becomes available in December. Potential players should note that the demo requires about 12.8 gigabytes of storage space for installation.

Capcom initially revealed plans for a Monster Hunter Wilds prologue demo for the Switch 2 last month, subsequently confirming its availability starting October 19, 2026. This free download supports the transfer of saved progress to the full game, which is scheduled for release on December 4, 2026. Alongside the demo's launch, digital pre-orders for the full game also commenced. The demo focuses on local multiplayer experiences, with online functionality not being supported. Following the main game's debut, an expansion titled Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is slated for 2027. Further details, including cross-platform capabilities and a Japan-exclusive Switch 2 bundle, have also been previously disclosed.
