When venturing into the world of Valor Mortis, you will inevitably encounter your first Amber long before you discover its practical application. The game's progression primarily revolves around a straightforward skill system that grants passive enhancements, making Ambers the key component for customizing and adding unique flair to your character's capabilities.

You can integrate an Amber into your setup once you achieve Level 5 by interacting with any in-game lantern that facilitates character progression. Upon accessing the level-up interface, you will notice an available slot, marked by a plus sign, at the bottom of the screen. Selecting this slot allows you to choose and equip an Amber. Importantly, this choice is not permanent; you have the flexibility to exchange Ambers at any time. Subsequent slots for additional Ambers become available every ten levels, specifically at Levels 15, 25, 35, and 45. This means a total of five Amber slots can be unlocked.

Ambers are typically acquired through completing quests and opening chests. A notable feature is that obtaining duplicate Ambers automatically enhances the potency of the existing one, amplifying its passive bonuses. This system encourages continuous exploration and engagement with the game's mechanics to strengthen your character progressively.

Embracing the strategic use of Ambers is fundamental to mastering Valor Mortis. By carefully selecting and upgrading these mystical items, players can tailor their combat style and overcome challenges more effectively. This deep customization not only enhances gameplay but also adds a rich layer of strategic depth, allowing each player to forge a unique path through the game's unfolding narrative.
