Emmy-winning actor Kieran Culkin, recognized for his impactful performance in 'Succession,' is set to join the cast of the animated series 'Family Guy,' taking on the role of the Devil in a new Halloween-themed episode. This exciting news was shared during a panel discussion for 'Family Guy' at San Diego Comic-Con, where attendees also learned about an upcoming holiday special. Both unique episodes are scheduled to debut on Hulu later this year, and for most international viewers, they will be accessible via Disney+.

The Halloween special, named 'Happy Hell-o-ween,' promises an adventure where beloved characters Brian and Stewie find themselves in the underworld, supposedly atoning for their past misdeeds across 24 seasons. Their knack for irritating everyone, including the Devil himself, leads to an unexpected twist: they end up in charge of hell. Following this, the holiday special, 'The Peter Clause,' will see Peter Griffin and his friends vying for the esteemed position of the town's official Santa. Peter's failure to secure the role sets the stage for a memorable episode, as he opts for entertainment over mature handling of his disappointment.

These announcements, along with a sneak peek at Culkin's portrayal of the Devil, came from Rich Appel, the executive producer and showrunner of 'Family Guy.' He was joined on stage by voice actors Alex Borstein (Lois), Arif Zahir (Cleveland), Jennifer Tilly (Bonnie), and co-executive producer/supervising director Peter Shin. As 'Family Guy' prepares for its 25th season return on Fox in early 2027, these specials highlight the show's ongoing evolution and its commitment to delivering fresh and engaging content to its global fanbase.

The landscape of animated television continues to thrive, showcasing a rich tapestry of creativity and humor. The inclusion of acclaimed actors and the development of thematic specials like these underscore the industry's drive to innovate and captivate audiences. Such endeavors reflect a vibrant spirit of storytelling, where imagination knows no bounds, bringing joy and thoughtful entertainment to viewers worldwide.
