The upcoming iteration of the BMW X2 has been spotted undergoing rigorous hot-weather evaluations in Spain, revealing substantial design modifications beneath its concealing camouflage. This revised X2 holds increasing significance for BMW, particularly as its expanded dimensions and sleek coupe-like silhouette are influencing the discontinuation of the X4. The variant observed, featuring a distinctive quad-exhaust setup, is expected to debut as the X2 M40 xDrive for the 2027 model year, suggesting a potential increase in engine output.

A notable update for the 2027 X2 is the inclusion of the Panoramic Vision iDrive system in its cabin. This advanced system integrates a free-standing central touchscreen for infotainment functions, complemented by a head-up display spanning the entire width of the windshield to present crucial driving data. While the full lighting signature and finalized design are still under wraps, an official unveiling is projected to occur by late this year or early 2027.
