Moschella instinctively swerved, narrowly avoiding a direct impact, yet her bicycle's rear wheel was clipped. The force of the collision sent her tumbling, her helmet striking the ground, followed by her face, resulting in a laceration above her eye. Dazed but conscious, she managed to move herself and her bike to the relative safety of the sidewalk. It was then that a most unusual figure approached: a young man on an electric unicycle, clad in a full lavender bunny costume. His immediate concern and offer of assistance were a surprising comfort in her disoriented state.
Initially mistaking the bunny-suited stranger for a surreal hallucination brought on by her accident, Moschella quickly realized he was real and genuinely offering help. Her first request was for assistance in locating her lost spectacles. The man triumphantly spotted them in the middle of the intersection, but as he moved to retrieve them, a passing truck unfortunately crushed them. Undeterred, he collected the shattered fragments and, after confirming she did not require an ambulance (Moschella, a physician herself, had already assessed her injuries as non-life-threatening), he accompanied her to the BART station. This encounter deeply resonated with Moschella, solidifying her affection for San Francisco's distinctive blend of compassion, spontaneous camaraderie, and the freedom for individuals to express themselves in wonderfully eccentric ways.
