The United Kingdom's gaming market witnessed a vibrant shake-up in its October charts, with multiple fresh releases asserting their presence within the top ten. Despite the influx of new challengers, the reigning champion, EA Sports FC 27, managed to hold onto its prestigious leading spot.

Among the newcomers, "Control Resonant" secured an impressive second place, demonstrating strong consumer interest. Following closely behind, "Castlevania: Belmont's Curse" carved out a notable debut in the third position, with a significant 45% of its sales attributed to the Nintendo Switch platform. Family-friendly title "Toy Story: Retro Roundup! + Toy Story 3 Complete Edition" landed in fourth, while Fireshine Games' "Valor Mortis" rounded out the new top 10 entries at ninth.

Further down the list, "Tales of Eternia: Remastered" began its chart journey at 15th. "Bluey's Happy Snaps" saw a boost, reaching 34th place, benefiting from sales across both Switch and Switch 2 consoles. In contrast, "Kingdom Hearts Collection," which previously enjoyed a strong fifth-place start, experienced a substantial decline, plummeting to 31st.

The weekly data compiled by GfK offers a comprehensive look at the UK's physical game sales, detailing the performance of various titles across different platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and the new Switch 2. "EA Sports FC 27" continued its dominance, with PlayStation 5 accounting for the majority of its sales, followed by Switch and Xbox Series. "Castlevania: Belmont's Curse" also showed a split in its sales, with PlayStation 5 leading, and Nintendo Switch not far behind. Similarly, "Toy Story: Retro Roundup! + Toy Story 3 Complete Edition" saw strong performance on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2.

Other titles like "Star Wars: Galactic Racer," "Mario Kart World," "Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream," and "Marvel's Wolverine" maintained steady positions within the top 10. Games such as "Pokémon Pokopia" and "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" also performed well, with the latter showing a clear preference for the Switch 2 platform. Even classic titles like "The Witcher III: Wild Hunt GOTY Edition" and "Minecraft" continued to chart, indicating their enduring popularity.

The latest chart update underscores the dynamic nature of the UK gaming market, with new releases continuously vying for top positions while established favorites maintain their foothold. The varied success of games across different platforms highlights the diverse preferences of the gaming community, as players embrace both fresh adventures and timeless classics.
