"Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" made its cinematic debut in May, ending a six-year hiatus for the franchise on the big screen. Despite its position among the highest-grossing films of 2026, many fans have been patiently awaiting its home viewing availability. The wait is now over, as Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed the digital and physical release dates for this cinematic continuation of the popular Disney Plus series, featuring the adventures of Din Djarin and his young companion, Grogu.

The film will be available for digital purchase on July 21st across various platforms, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango. For those who prefer physical media, 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray editions are scheduled for release on August 25th. Additionally, collectors can look forward to a SteelBook version and a unique "Beskar Collector's Edition," which will come with specialized packaging, metal posters, and both 4K UHD and Blu-ray discs, along with a digital code.

Beyond the film itself, the home releases will be packed with special features. Viewers can delve into the making of the movie with "Crafting The Mandalorian and Grogu," exploring the puppetry, miniatures, sound design, and visual effects that bring its universe to life. "Biomes—From Snow to Swamp" offers a look at the creation of new planetary landscapes, while "Welcome to Shakari" details the construction of a Star Wars city. A featurette titled "Dejarik for Real" highlights the transformation of the iconic holochess creatures for the big screen. Director Jon Favreau also provides an audio commentary track.

This release provides an opportunity to appreciate the artistic and technical achievements behind the film, and how these efforts continue to expand the rich tapestry of the Star Wars universe for both established enthusiasts and new generations. The dedication to craftsmanship and storytelling exemplifies the enduring spirit of creativity and innovation that drives the entertainment industry forward, encouraging audiences to engage with narratives that ignite imagination and foster a sense of wonder.
