Star-studded cast joins Netflix's 'Bad Bridgets'

A formidable ensemble of acting talent, including Colin Farrell, Steve Coogan, Charlie Heaton, and Domhnall Gleeson, has been announced for Netflix's upcoming historical thriller, 'Bad Bridgets.' This much-anticipated production, helmed by director Rich Peppiatt, promises to transport audiences to 19th-century New York, unraveling the compelling narratives of Irish emigrant women.

The cast for 'Bad Bridgets' extends beyond these prominent names to include Himesh Patel, Niamh Algar, and Simone Kirby. They will join previously announced stars Emilia Jones and Alison Oliver in a film that draws its inspiration from the critically acclaimed history book, 'Bad Bridget: Crime, Mayhem, and the Lives of Irish Emigrant Women,' authored by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick.

The historical backdrop for 'Bad Bridgets' delves into a unique and often overlooked aspect of 19th-century Irish emigration. The source material highlights a period when Irish women migrating to other countries were disproportionately represented in prison populations compared to their male counterparts.
