Sam Register Steps Down as Head of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network, and Hanna-Barbera Studios
After an illustrious career spanning over three decades within the Warner Bros. Discovery ecosystem, including 18 years at the helm of Warner Bros. Animation, Sam Register is set to conclude his tenure. The announcement, made by Channing Dungey, Chair of Warner Bros. TV Group, revealed a mutual agreement not to renew Register's contract, signaling a new chapter for both the executive and the esteemed animation studios.
In his statement, Register expressed gratitude for his time and the collaborative efforts with his teams, acknowledging the remarkable achievements made together. His departure initiates a search for a successor who will take charge of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. During this transitional period, Matt Matzkin will continue to lead business operations, while various creative department heads will manage their respective areas, ensuring continuity and stability for the studios' ongoing projects.
