Kering, the renowned luxury group, has named Romain Spitzer as the new Chief Executive Officer for its prestigious brand, Bottega Veneta. This strategic appointment, effective September 1, signals a new chapter for the Italian luxury house, aiming to bolster its global market position and expand its product portfolio under fresh leadership.

Leading Bottega Veneta into a New Era of Growth and Innovation

A New Helm for Bottega Veneta: Romain Spitzer's Leadership

Romain Spitzer is set to take the reins as Bottega Veneta's Chief Executive Officer, a move confirmed by parent company Kering on Wednesday. His tenure officially commences on the first day of September, marking a significant transition for the luxury brand.

Kering's Vision for Bottega Veneta's Future

Luca de Meo, CEO of Kering, expressed immense confidence in Spitzer's capabilities. De Meo highlighted Spitzer's exceptional leadership qualities, strategic vision, and vast international experience as crucial assets that will propel Bottega Veneta into its next phase of development. He anticipates that Spitzer will leverage the brand's inherent strengths to elevate its standing in the global luxury market.

Spitzer's Distinguished Background at LVMH Beauty

Before joining Bottega Veneta, Spitzer held a prominent position as the President and CEO of the Fragrance Group at LVMH Beauty. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing a distinguished collection of brands, including Parfums Givenchy, Kenzo, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Acqua di Parma, Loewe Perfumes, Officine Universelle Buly, and various New Ventures. His extensive experience in managing diverse luxury portfolios is expected to bring valuable insights to Bottega Veneta.

The Succession: Filling a Key Leadership Role

The search for a new CEO spanned several months, following the announcement of former CEO Bartolomeo Rongone's departure in January. Rongone, who led Bottega Veneta for six years, transitioned to Moncler on March 31, necessitating Kering's diligent search for a worthy successor.

Collaborative Creative Direction with Louise Trotter

Spitzer will be working alongside creative director Louise Trotter, whose recent collections have garnered positive acclaim. Trotter's debut show in September and her subsequent presentation in February were well-received, indicating a promising creative direction for the brand that Spitzer will now help to strategically guide.

Bottega Veneta's Promising Financial Trajectory

Although Kering revised its segment reporting in the first quarter of 2026, no longer disclosing individual house revenues except for Gucci, CFO Armelle Poulou noted Bottega Veneta's robust performance. Among Kering's fashion houses, Bottega Veneta achieved the strongest growth in Q1, building on a notable 3% growth to €1.7 billion recorded in 2025.

Strategic Expansion: Scaling and Diversifying Offerings

During the group's Capital Markets Day in April, de Meo articulated the future direction for Bottega Veneta: to achieve significant growth without compromising its core identity. This strategy involves increasing the brand's visibility, particularly through enhanced marketing efforts in key markets like China. De Meo outlined plans for a more accelerated pace of shows and high-impact global events. A significant objective is to more than double non-leather good revenues by 2030, through strengthening its costume and fine jewelry lines, as well as developing a distinct gifting and art of living proposition.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Growth Potential

De Meo reiterated on Wednesday that Bottega Veneta stands as one of the most powerful and unique luxury houses, distinguished by its exceptional craftsmanship, singular creative identity, and remarkable potential for growth. Spitzer's appointment is poised to harness these intrinsic qualities and drive the brand forward in the competitive luxury landscape.
