Pont Neuf Transformed into "La Caverne du Pont Neuf"

Paris's venerable Pont Neuf, despite its name meaning "new bridge," holds the distinction of being the city's most ancient crossing, with its origins tracing back to 1578 under the reign of King Henry IV. This architectural marvel recently underwent a dramatic metamorphosis, transforming its iconic structure into an expansive, air-filled grotto. The temporary art piece, known as "La Caverne du Pont Neuf," has captivated both Parisian residents and tourists, offering an unconventional experience within the heart of the city.

Crafted by the enigmatic artist known simply as JR, the installation turns the historic bridge into a whimsical, bouncy-house-like mountain scape. Resting atop its dozen historic arches, the massive inflatable tunnel is adorned with a rocky, cavernous print.
