Netflix has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming teen thriller, 'The Body,' scheduled for November 11. This eight-episode series, crafted by Quinn Shephard, draws inspiration from iconic '90s and Y2K teen horror films like 'Carrie' and 'Jennifer's Body.' The narrative centers on a group of Catholic schoolgirls who begin experiencing prophetic visions after a dance-team initiation takes an unexpected and dark turn, plunging their town into a state of panic.

The series features a talented ensemble cast including Kristina Bogic as Anya Butler, Sara Boustany as Elise Zakaria, Geena Meszaros as Lisbeth Anderson, and Nnamdi Asomugha as Father Franklin. Louisa Krause portrays Maddie Delaney, Jackson Kelly appears as Leo Anderson, and Sofia Wylie takes on the role of Grace Franklin. Additional recurring cast members include Kyra Pierce, Phallon Pierce, Marcel Ruiz, Orlando Norman, Gabby Windey, Ashley Madekwe, Motell Foster, Cale Ambrozic, Anna Tierney, Chloe Longname, Sarah Abbott, Emily Roman, Michela Luci, Bella Neuspiel, Julia Lowe, and Christine Solomon. Shephard also serves as the showrunner and director, with executive production by Peter Chernin, Amy Israel, and Josh Stern for North Road, alongside Riley Keough, Gina Gammell, and Sacha Ben Harroche for Felix Culpa, and Blair Breard.

In other Netflix news, the streaming giant has also revealed new additions to the cast of 'The Sticks,' a hockey drama set to premiere in 2027. Created by Nick Naveda, the series explores the aftermath of a tragedy in a small Minnesota hockey town. The story follows a grieving wife who steps in to coach the team her late husband built, guiding a diverse group of young athletes through a season filled with loss, love, and fierce rivalry. This journey will determine the fate of South Dorothy and who will lead its next chapter. Series regulars include Scott Bakula as Coach Brody Hansen, Logan Marshall-Green as Coach Sully, and Alex MacIsaac as Emma Boone. New recurring characters feature Bryan Greenberg as Cliff Barnes, Chelsea Field as Alice Hansen, Patrick Gallagher as Principal Montgomery, Alison Araya as Joan Garcia, Aman Smardon as Kai Becker, Krista Bridges as Frankie Ryder, and Ben Cotton as Mr. Marchbanks. Naveda executive produces alongside showrunner Bridget Bedard and director Trey Edward Shults, with additional executive producers Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Robert Atwood for 21 Laps. The previously announced cast includes Michelle Monaghan, Emilie Bierre, Shari Chase, Josh MacQueen, Costa D'Angelo, Carter Shimp, Ethan Holder, Isaac Arellanes, Chloe Avakian, Caleb Baumann, River Codack, Angus Albinati, and Callum Orchison.

These upcoming Netflix productions highlight the platform's dedication to delivering diverse and engaging content, from supernatural teen thrillers to emotionally resonant sports dramas. By showcasing compelling narratives and strong character development, Netflix continues to enrich its catalog and provide audiences with thought-provoking entertainment that explores themes of resilience, community, and personal growth.
