In a significant development for sports enthusiasts, MSG Networks and YES Network have forged a new alliance with DAZN. This collaboration will see DAZN becoming the exclusive platform for direct-to-consumer streaming of numerous New York sports teams' games, commencing with the 2026-2027 NBA and NHL seasons. This strategic shift marks a pivotal moment, as it effectively concludes the operations of the Gotham Sports App, a digital joint venture previously established by MSG and YES Networks in 2024. The transition aims to offer an elevated streaming experience to fans while broadening DAZN's already extensive portfolio of sports content.

The newly formed alliance means that subscribers located within the regional broadcast areas of MSG Networks and YES Network will gain access to live games featuring the Yankees, Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Devils, Islanders, and Sabres. Additionally, they will have 24/7 access to live feeds from the MSG, MSG Sportsnet, and YES networks, complemented by exclusive original programming. While existing users of the Gotham Sports App will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to content for the time being, MSG and YES Networks intend to facilitate a seamless migration of these users to the DAZN platform during the 2026-2027 NBA and NHL seasons. Specific details and a timeline for this transition will be unveiled in the coming months.

This strategic pivot underscores the dynamic challenges confronting regional sports networks. Historically, these networks served as vital hubs for sports content within their respective markets. However, the proliferation of streaming services, coupled with the increasing trend of 'cord-cutting' and evolving consumer viewing habits—which favor mobile access and short-form video content—has led to a decline in traditional subscriber numbers. In response to this evolving media landscape, regional sports networks are re-evaluating their distribution strategies to remain competitive and relevant.

For DAZN, this agreement represents a substantial reinforcement of its sports programming repertoire. The company is already well-recognized in the United States for its comprehensive coverage of combat sports and soccer. On a global scale, DAZN provides streaming access to major leagues such as the NFL Game Pass, NHL.TV, the NBA, and NCAA college football and basketball. Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating that the deal "reaffirms our dedication to expanding our presence within the United States."

Jon Litner, President and CEO of YES Network, reiterated the commitment to enhancing the fan experience. He remarked, "Our new strategic partnership with DAZN underscores the YES Network's ongoing dedication to elevating the streaming experience for both our direct-to-consumer subscribers and TV Everywhere users." Litner further praised DAZN's technological capabilities, noting that the platform offers "world-class technology and elite, live sports streaming expertise." He expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with DAZN and MSG Networks, aiming to continue providing the most compelling sports content in the nation to fans of the Yankees, Nets, and other teams broadcast by MSG.

The collaboration between MSG Networks, YES Network, and DAZN signifies a forward-looking approach to sports broadcasting, adapting to the demands of a modern, digitally-driven audience. By consolidating their direct-to-consumer streaming efforts under DAZN, these entities are poised to deliver a more robust and accessible viewing experience for fans of New York's prominent sports teams.

Banijay Entertainment's Financial Performance Post-All3Media Acquisition
Banijay Entertainment has released its first financial report since acquiring All3Media. The report indicates a slight decrease in half-year revenues for H1 2026, dropping to €1.37 billion ($1.56 billion), marking a 2.2% reduction from the previous year. This dip is primarily attributed to a decline in production volume. However, the figures do not yet incorporate All3Media's performance, which will be reflected in the second half of the year's results. Despite the overall revenue dip, distribution revenue saw a notable increase, largely due to a successful format sale.
