As the FIFA World Cup reaches its climax, Major League Soccer is seizing the moment to propel its growth with an unprecedented marketing blitz. This extensive campaign, dubbed "Thanks World, We'll Take It From Here," harnesses the appeal of prominent figures within the sport and beyond, including football icon Lionel Messi, celebrated former player and club owner David Beckham, along with sports stars Son Heung-Min, Magic Johnson, and Kevin Durant, as well as actor Matthew McConaughey, all of whom have affiliations with MLS teams.

Radhika Duggal, MLS's Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized the campaign's goal: to ensure that the excitement generated by the World Cup seamlessly transitions into sustained interest in MLS. By weaving together elements of culture, music, and entertainment, the league aims to create an accessible pathway for new enthusiasts to discover the vibrant community and compelling narratives within MLS, whether through Apple TV or local stadium experiences. This initiative represents MLS's boldest move yet to integrate itself into the broader cultural landscape, aiming to attract a fresh wave of supporters.

The campaign's rollout strategically aligns with Fox's broadcasts of the World Cup semifinals and final, extending its reach across various platforms including Apple TV, traditional television, streaming services, digital channels, social media, and out-of-home advertising. A significant component of this effort involves all 30 MLS clubs, with 22 teams offering "first match on us" promotions, providing free tickets to encourage attendance. Additionally, the campaign features an exclusive Amazon Music Original track, a reimagining of A Tribe Called Quest's "Can I Kick It?," produced by DJ Premier and featuring new vocals by Samara Cyn, further blending sports with contemporary culture. Camilo Durana, Executive VP & Chief Business Officer of MLS, underscored the league's intent to channel global soccer enthusiasm into enduring engagement within North America, welcoming new fans as the domestic season resumes.

MLS is making a substantial investment, banking on the immense global interest in the World Cup to significantly boost its league's popularity. The league hopes that fans, drawn in by stars like Messi, will continue to follow the sport, viewing MLS as a premier league on par with others in a sports-devoted nation. The current World Cup has already achieved remarkable viewership figures across Fox and Telemundo, sometimes rivaling NFL audiences, demonstrating a potent opportunity for MLS to elevate its standing and inspire a new generation of soccer fans in the country.
