The new live-action adaptation of the classic video game franchise, "Street Fighter," has hit theaters, showcasing a remarkable and varied cast. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, this cinematic rendition brings together a compelling lineup of talent to embody the legendary characters. The film features a diverse group of performers, including celebrated actors, professional wrestling icons, renowned musicians, and popular comedians, all stepping into the shoes of the iconic fighters.

Each cast member brings their unique background and expertise to their respective roles. For instance, Noah Centineo takes on the role of Ken Masters, a martial artist known for his blonde hair and red attire, first introduced in the original 1987 game. Centineo, with a career spanning from TV dramas like "The Fosters" to Netflix romances and action films, has physically transformed for the role, as seen in his social media posts. His co-star, British actor and martial artist Andrew Koji, portrays the heroic Ryu. Koji, recognized for his intense physical performances in series like "Warrior" and movies such as "Bullet Train," perfectly embodies Ryu's formidable presence. The ensemble also includes notable figures from professional wrestling, such as Cody Rhodes, who steps into the boots of Guile, an Air Force soldier with a distinctive haircut and powerful Sonic Boom attack. Rhodes, a second-generation wrestler with a strong presence in WWE and AEW, has expressed his excitement for the film's fan service. Additionally, David Dastmalchian takes on the villainous M. Bison, a character previously played by Raul Julia. Dastmalchian, a prolific actor known for roles in blockbuster franchises and indie horror, praises the director's unique vision and the camaraderie among the cast. Jason Momoa, a natural fit for action roles, portrays Blanka, the green-skinned, electricity-wielding fighter. Momoa's extensive career, including his breakout role in "Game of Thrones" and his tenure as Aquaman, makes him a powerful addition to the cast. Callina Liang plays Chun-Li, the franchise's first playable female character, following in the footsteps of previous actresses. Liang, a rising star, shared her excitement about joining a franchise she grew up with. Joe Anoaʻi, famously known as Roman Reigns in WWE, embodies Akuma, a dark figure connected to Ryu. Anoaʻi's wrestling background and film roles in "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw" prepare him for this intense character. Olivier Richters, known as "the Dutch Giant," physically dominates the screen as Zangief, a Russian giant with impressive musculature. His imposing size has been utilized in films like "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." Lastly, Curtis Jackson, or 50 Cent, plays Balrog, the boxer inspired by Mike Tyson. Jackson, a Grammy-winning rapper and successful producer in the "Power" universe, has shared his enthusiasm for the role, humorously recalling his arcade gaming strategy.

The new "Street Fighter" movie demonstrates a powerful synergy of diverse talent, blending acting prowess with athletic and artistic backgrounds. This eclectic mix not only honors the rich legacy of the video game but also injects fresh energy and perspectives into its cinematic adaptation. The dedication of each cast member to their roles, driven by a genuine passion for the franchise, creates a truly special and vibrant experience. This production stands as a testament to creative collaboration, showing that when artists from varied fields unite, they can craft something compelling and impactful.
