Many players in Arc Raiders, including myself, initially dismiss the outpost furniture system as merely decorative. However, this seemingly cosmetic feature introduced with the Frozen Trail update holds a significant secret: it provides hundreds of additional storage slots for your inventory and weaponry. While most focus on upgrading core outpost elements and acquiring powerful modulators for amplified weapons, understanding the true utility of furniture can drastically improve your resource management and overall gameplay efficiency.

Unlocking this valuable storage expansion is a straightforward process, beginning with reaching level 18 to initiate the "Sheltered Retreat" project. This involves a series of tasks, such as documenting the Ruined Homestead, contributing essential resources like planks and sheet metal, and engaging in combat with specific enemy types like flying Arc and a Bully. Once these prerequisites are met, you gain access to the Sheltered Retreat and can begin repurposing discarded materials, like boxes found under blankets, into crafting components for your new furniture.

The process of utilizing furniture for storage is intuitive. Each crafted piece comes with a designated number of slots. By selecting an empty furniture slot within your outpost or a newly constructed room, you can choose to "decorate" it, allowing you to place items. This includes not only wall-mounted options like shelves and gun racks but also freestanding pieces. Crucially, these furniture slots function similarly to your personal stash, accommodating full stacks of items. Should you need to quickly consolidate your belongings, a simple right-click on any furniture piece offers the option to "clear all attached items," sending them directly back to your stash. Blueprints for additional furniture designs are frequently discovered in various locations throughout the game world, particularly in residential zones like Pendola Pass's Old Town, providing ample opportunities to further expand your storage.

By strategically populating your outpost's three available rooms with a diverse array of furniture, players can unlock an extensive amount of supplementary storage, a feature that is indispensable for managing the vast collection of items and weapons in Arc Raiders. This unexpected functionality transforms what appears to be a decorative element into a critical component of effective resource management. However, a key consideration is that once constructed, the layout and configuration of your outpost's rooms cannot be altered, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful planning when setting up your storage infrastructure.
