Kieran Culkin to Voice Lead in Disney's Upcoming Animated Feature 'Clay'

Kieran Culkin is expanding his acting portfolio into the realm of animated films, taking on a starring voice role in Disney Animation's upcoming feature, "Clay." This announcement was made during Disney's D23 fan event, revealing the film is slated for a November 2028 release.

In "Clay," Culkin will lend his voice to a character chosen to guide a sentient, malleable ball of clay through a fantastical woodland journey, with the crucial task of keeping the clay alive. This exciting new project comes on the heels of a highly successful period for Culkin, who garnered a Best Supporting Actor Oscar and a Golden Globe in 2025 for his performance in "A Real Pain." He also received an Emmy and another Golden Globe for his acclaimed role as Roman Roy in HBO's "Succession." Looking ahead, Culkin is set to appear in "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping," portraying Caesar Flickerman, a role previously held by Stanley Tucci, and he has a part in Nancy Meyers' new film for Warner Bros., expected in 2027.

Further announcements at the D23 event from Disney Animation included plans for "Zootopia 3" and new voice cast additions for "Hexed," with Jodie Foster and Walton Goggins joining Hailee Steinfeld. Pixar, Disney's sister division, also showcased upcoming projects such as "Incredibles 3" and "Coco 2."
