For the first time in its five-year history, the Iberseries & Platino Industria's Co-Production and Financing Forum has established a dedicated selection committee. This inaugural committee includes Bernardo Bergeret, founder of Ventana Sur/BloodWindow; Joanna Lombardi, a renowned showrunner; and Karina Dolgiej, a partner at TV Film International. According to Rodrigo Ros, the forum's general coordinator, this committee meticulously evaluated projects based on their feasibility, global appeal, secure financing (at least 30% already in place), attractiveness to international partners, co-production potential, and the team's proven experience, ensuring a distinctive market presence. Over the past five years, nearly two dozen feature films and series presented at the forum have successfully secured funding, entered production, and been distributed across Ibero-American regions.

The forum has a strong track record of success, highlighting several notable productions. Among the television projects, Rodrigo Susarte's "Patagonia" (Chile-Spain) is set to premiere on Movistar Plus+ in Spain, with ZDF Studios handling its international distribution. Other successful TV endeavors include "Past Waters" (Portugal-Spain) and Katherina Harder's Chilean period drama "The Danger of Loving You," produced by Parox, which debuted on TVN Chile in August. On the feature film side, Lucia Puenzo's "Pepita, the Pistolera" will have its global premiere at Iberseries, while the Uruguayan survival thriller "Hunting and Fishing," and "The Stories" from Spain's Aquí y Allí Films and Sideral have also achieved significant recognition. Additionally, Juan Pablo Sallato's "Red Hangar" premiered at the Berlinale, was selected as Chile's Goya entry, and received multiple accolades at the 41st Guadalajara Film Festival.

This year's selection of projects at the Co-Production Forum showcases a broad spectrum of genres, moving beyond a single market focus to embrace true stories, various horror subgenres, comedies, family dramas, sports narratives, historical pieces, and thrillers. The array of stories reflects a deliberate commitment to diversity, providing rich content for potential partners and audiences worldwide. This year's forum, featuring both established and emerging talents, underscores a dynamic future for Ibero-American cinema and television.

The Iberseries Co-Production Forum stands as a beacon of opportunity for filmmakers and television creators, fostering international collaborations and bringing diverse stories to global audiences. Through its rigorous selection process and commitment to supporting compelling narratives, the forum not only highlights the vibrant talent within the Ibero-American industry but also champions the power of storytelling to transcend borders and connect cultures. This initiative ensures that compelling cinematic and televisual works continue to emerge, enriching the global entertainment landscape with fresh perspectives and innovative productions.
