Embark on the challenging 'Forge It Anew' quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker to reforge the legendary Imbued Sword of St. Mihai. This detailed guide provides Coen with all the necessary steps to complete this pivotal mission, from collecting the scattered sword shards to finding the reclusive Uriashi blacksmith. Discover optimal routes and crucial pointers to navigate through this complex endeavor and unlock the coveted 'Arbiter's Blade' achievement, transforming the Broken Sword into a weapon of epic and ultimately legendary quality. Your journey through Vale Sangora requires strategic planning and careful exploration to uncover hidden locations and defeat formidable foes, ensuring Coen is well-equipped for the battles ahead.

Initiating the 'Forge It Anew' Quest and Locating the First Shard

The 'Forge It Anew' quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker begins either by serendipitously discovering a sword shard in the wild or by finishing the 'A Monk and a Saint' quest, which itself can be initiated by exploring the Svartrau Cathedral's courtyard or completing 'Echoes of Silenced Bells.' Once you possess the Broken Sword of St. Mihai, the primary goal is to find three sword shards and an Uriashi blacksmith. Your objectives include finishing the sub-quests 'Do Not Disturb,' 'Executive Order,' and 'Hostile Takeover' in any sequence, locating the blacksmith, and finally reforging the sword. Neither the blacksmith's location nor the sword shards are marked on your map, requiring exploration or following this guide to streamline your progress, a journey that will consume approximately 12 in-game time segments.

To obtain the first sword shard, venture into the Maragir Wealds, situated in the northeastern sector of Vale Sangora. Head towards the distinct slanted rock formation nestled northwest of the Maragir Wealds Watchtower to trigger the 'Forge It Anew: Do Not Disturb' sub-quest. Utilize your focus mode to trace a blood trail that leads into a cave located further northeast. Inside, you'll confront and defeat a group of kobolds. Thoroughly search the cave, ensuring you collect the sword shard positioned at the back, a task that will cost three time segments. While there, examine the mural on the cave wall, as it conveniently reveals the locations of the two remaining sword shards on your map, significantly aiding your quest progression.

Retrieving Remaining Shards and Enlisting the Uriashi Blacksmith's Aid

The second sword shard awaits you in St. Tyna's Grove, an area east of Svartrau City and not far southeast from the familiar Crossroads Inn. Follow the road deeper into the kobolds' territory, where an investigation will reveal a letter providing clues about the Uriashi blacksmith. Unfortunately, soldiers have raided the area, stealing the shard. To reclaim it, you must clear their camp in the swamp southwest of Tantari. The shard is located within a lavish tent in the camp, and its collection will consume another three time segments. The third and final sword shard is found in Rockfalls, west of Svartrau City, specifically on the plains east of Westridge Outpost, easily accessible by starting from the Giant's Paws shrine and passing through the forest. Enter the den to defeat the miniboss Munch-Munch, an enlarged kobold, and then retrieve the final shard from the nest, which also costs three time segments.

To locate the Uriashi blacksmith, review the letter found on the soldier's corpse during the 'Executive Order' sub-quest. Alternatively, you could find the Uriashi village, assist The Elder, and inquire about the blacksmith, though this method is considerably more time-consuming. For a direct approach, the blacksmith's hidden workshop is situated in the northwest corner of Briar Sloughs. Upon meeting her, state your intention to defeat Brencis, and she will agree to help. Provide her with all three sword shards to restore the Broken Sword of St. Mihai to an epic quality. To elevate the sword to its legendary status, you must temper it. Proceed into the cave in the northwest, carefully navigate through the red veins using the "cut through the veins" prompt, and defeat the horde of undead creatures in the pit below. In the subsequent chamber, dedicate three time segments to perform the tempering ritual. After vanquishing several waves of undead, Coen will receive the Imbued Sword of St. Mihai, completing the 'Forge It Anew' quest and unlocking the 'Arbiter's Blade' achievement.
