Ghetto Film School (GFS) has announced a significant collaboration with Mosh Audio, a multimedia storytelling enterprise. This partnership is set to enrich GFS's recently redesigned 20-month fellowship curriculum, which emphasizes filmmaking while expanding into contemporary cross-platform media environments. The initiative reflects a forward-thinking approach to education within the creative arts, aiming to equip emerging talent with a broader skill set for the evolving industry.

Mosh Audio has developed a specialized podcasting curriculum specifically for GFS's summer program. This curriculum will provide GFS fellows with a foundational four-session series, focusing on practical skills in sound capture, active listening, and fostering collaborative communities through audio narratives. This hands-on training is designed to complement their existing filmmaking knowledge, bridging the gap between visual and auditory storytelling.

Ché Chisholm, Chief Executive Officer of GFS, expressed enthusiasm for the alliance, highlighting how it offers young fellows direct exposure to podcasting as a powerful storytelling medium. He emphasized that this collaboration not only enhances their cinematic experiences but also boosts their proficiency in audio recording and sound mixing, preparing them for a multidisciplinary creative career.

Sarah Hack, co-founder of Mosh, echoed these sentiments, noting the shift in the creative landscape where professionals no longer work in isolated fields like film, TV, or radio. She commended GFS for its foresight in recognizing the importance of nurturing stories across multiple platforms, ensuring that the educational framework aligns with current industry demands. Mosh is delighted to contribute to GFS's pedagogical evolution and to work with such talented students.

With campuses in New York City, Los Angeles, and London, GFS is dedicated to preparing individuals aged 14 to 35 for higher education and careers in the creative industries. The institution offers two distinct educational pathways: an introductory program for high school students and career development support for alumni and young professionals. GFS currently serves over 8,000 individuals annually, fostering a new generation of storytellers. Mosh, established in 2024 by Hack and Molly O’Keefe, specializes in producing impactful and innovative multimedia stories.

This strategic alliance between GFS and Mosh Audio represents a crucial step in modernizing creative education, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the dynamic and integrated world of media production. By blending traditional filmmaking with cutting-edge podcasting techniques, the program aims to cultivate versatile storytellers capable of engaging audiences across diverse platforms.
