Ford had initially planned to introduce a three-row electric SUV by 2025; however, this project was ultimately abandoned, signaling a pivotal moment in the company's electric vehicle strategy. The image portrays a vehicle with a Genesis GV60-inspired front, an elongated, sloping roofline, and a rear design reminiscent of the classic 1964 Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe.
This visionary electric SUV, initially teased in May 2023, was envisioned by Ford CEO Jim Farley as a "personal bullet train," boasting an impressive range exceeding 350 miles. While the project was eventually halted, Ford clarified that the vehicle has transitioned into a "research vehicle." This transformation underscores its continued importance in shaping the future of Ford's electric vehicle development, with its design and engineering insights now informing the creation of subsequent EV models.
