Disney's 'Descendants' Universe Expands with 'Hidden Heroes' Focusing on Sidekicks' Offspring
Expanding its popular "Descendants" series, Disney has officially announced a new musical adventure titled "Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story." This upcoming film, slated for release on both Disney Channel and Disney+, delves into the lives of the descendants of beloved Disney sidekicks, offering a fresh perspective on the well-known fairytale universe.
The narrative of "Hidden Heroes" centers on a clandestine training facility, accessible through portals hidden within every fairytale. Here, the offspring of legendary sidekicks are tasked with proving their worth to join an elite cadre of partners to heroes. The plot thickens when a malevolent pair infiltrates the Sidekick Academy, compelling a group of new recruits to band together. Without the intervention of established heroes or their famous parents, these young sidekicks must utilize their newfound abilities to safeguard the fairytale world from impending peril.
The film features a talented cast, including Dior Goodjohn as Jennie, daughter of Genie; Momona Tamada as Zara, daughter of Yzma; and Jacob Rodriguez as Kronk Jr., son of Kronk. Eva Fossaceca Smedley portrays Meri, daughter of Merryweather, while Harry Jones takes on the role of Lou, son of Lumiere. Additionally, Rhys Dawkins, Connor Wong, and Kyra Wong appear as the Potts Siblings. Directed by Jude Weng and penned by Tamara Chestna, Eydie Faye, and Emma Fletcher, with Mark Ordesky and Jane Fleming among the executive producers, the production by Disney Kids & Family is set to commence shortly.
