Boreanaz gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Angel, the complex vampire character in the acclaimed series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This role was so impactful that it led to a spin-off series, Angel, which followed his character's move to Los Angeles to establish a detective agency. This experience as a private investigator on screen seamlessly transitioned into his subsequent role in the pilot of NBC's The Rockford Files remake, where he is set to embody the private eye James Rockford, a character famously originated by James Garner in the original 1970s series.
