Comstock Inc. is strategically advancing its operations by establishing a new solar panel recycling and production facility in Ohio, a move poised to bolster its position in the clean energy sector. On June 24, 2026, the company's subsidiary, Comstock Metals, in collaboration with JobsOhio and OhioSE, selected Cambridge, Ohio, for this significant development. This facility is designed for industrial-scale operations, focusing on the recycling of solar panels and the production of valuable materials, and is expected to generate 20 new full-time employment opportunities. A $75,000 JobsOhio Grant will support this initiative, which aims to produce aluminum, silver, and glass beads for resale into Midwestern industrial supply chains, thereby enhancing resource recovery and sustainability efforts.

In a parallel strategic initiative, Comstock announced on June 22 a major divestment of its mineral and mining assets to Mackay Precious Metals, a subsidiary of Mackay Gold & Silver Corp. This transaction, valued at over $45 million, includes more than $30 million in cash and stock payments, a retained 1.5% Net Smelter Return (NSR) royalty, and the assumption of all reclamation obligations by Mackay. Comstock also anticipates an additional contingent future payment of $10 million. Upon the deal's closure, Comstock will receive $20 million in cash and 2 million Mackay Gold & Silver shares, valued at over $3.5 million, with a further $7 million cash payment due within 18 months. This divestiture is projected to reduce Comstock's ongoing operational costs related to mining asset maintenance, environmental compliance, and permits, leading to estimated annualized savings exceeding $1.5 million.

Comstock's strategic decisions to invest in solar panel recycling and divest its mining operations underscore a clear commitment to sustainable practices and clean energy technologies. By focusing on the commercialization of systems that convert underutilized waste and natural resources into clean energy products, Comstock is not only streamlining its business model but also contributing to environmental stewardship. These actions position the company to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the green economy, fostering innovation and resource efficiency for a more sustainable future.
