Effective July 3, Kyri Sarantakos, who currently serves as Executive Vice President of Technology for the NBC News Group, will temporarily take over Berend's responsibilities. Sarantakos, who joined NBCUniversal in July 2017, previously held a leadership role in engineering at Electric Objects, a New York-based hardware startup.
