The transformation of Castel Badia was a meticulous undertaking, spearheaded by Null17, a local architectural collective renowned for preserving historical structures while introducing modern elements. They worked alongside archaeologists to safeguard the castle's frescos, medieval bifore windows, and the crypt's imposing Christ figure. Milan-based studio Droulers and interior designer Marta Ferri contributed Alpine design notes, infusing warmth into the historically austere spaces. The result is evident in the 28 elegantly designed bedrooms and one chalet, featuring whitewashed stone walls, soft lighting, and timber rafters, with views of the rolling hills outside. The color palette, drawing inspiration from the surrounding nature, includes muted gold, grass green, creamy linen, and oxblood. Materials are locally sourced, with wood and stone from nearby forests and textiles from artisans like the Moessmer factory, known for its Tyrolean loden fabric.
