As the original gaming hardware continues to age, the challenges associated with playing classic games grow. To address this, Analogue has consistently worked to preserve the experience of retro gaming by offering contemporary hardware solutions. Following the success of their initial releases, the Super Nt and Mega Sg, in 2017 and 2019 respectively, the company is now introducing their advanced iterations: the Super Nt+ and the Mega Sg+. These new consoles provide a fresh opportunity for gamers to access and enjoy their beloved vintage titles.

Analogue Introduces Enhanced Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ for Immersive Retro Gaming

On Monday, October 19th, at 11 a.m. ET, Analogue will open pre-orders for its highly anticipated Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ consoles, priced at $219.99 each. These upgraded systems are engineered to breathe new life into classic SNES and Sega Genesis games, leveraging advanced FPGA technology to deliver 16-bit gaming in stunning high definition, supporting up to 1080p resolution on modern widescreen displays. Both consoles boast significant improvements over their predecessors, including integrated Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wireless support for controllers, convenient USB-C power, and a groundbreaking feature that allows for hot-swapping game cartridges without the need to power down the system. The Super Nt+ is compatible with an extensive library of over 2,200 SNES and Super Famicom cartridges, alongside their original controllers. Similarly, the Mega Sg+ supports more than 2,180 cartridges from various platforms, including the Sega Genesis, Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear, Mycard Adapter, and SG1000, and is also compatible with their respective wired controllers and the Sega CD. Each console package includes two cartridge cleaners, with additional cleaners available for purchase directly from Analogue, ensuring optimal performance for your vintage game collection. Shipments are slated to commence in December, making these consoles an ideal gift for the upcoming holiday season. It's important to note that controllers are not bundled with either console; users will need to utilize original wired controllers, source compatible wireless options, or purchase 8BitDo controllers separately from Analogue for $29.99.

These new releases from Analogue underscore a commitment to preserving the rich history of video games while integrating modern technological advancements. The ability to play cherished retro titles on contemporary displays with enhanced features offers a bridge between generations of gaming. For enthusiasts, it’s more than just playing old games; it's about experiencing them with a new level of clarity and convenience, ensuring that these cultural artifacts remain accessible and enjoyable for years to come. This initiative not only caters to nostalgia but also introduces classic gaming to a new audience, proving that timeless entertainment can always find a way to evolve.
