Acorn TV's 'Art Detectives' Gets Second Season Renewal

Acorn TV, a platform under AMC Global Media, has confirmed the renewal of its original crime series, 'Art Detectives,' for a second season. This announcement comes as the show, which blends art history with detective work, continues to captivate audiences with its unique premise and compelling characters.

The series features Stephen Moyer as Detective Inspector Mick Palmer, an art enthusiast, and Nina Singh as DC Shazia Malik, a direct and pragmatic investigator. Together, they form the core of the Heritage Crime Unit, tasked with recovering stolen art and solving crimes related to the intricate world of art and antiques. The upcoming season will also see the return of Larry Lamb as Ron Palmer, Mick's charming father, who is currently incarcerated for handling a stolen painting that Mick recovered in the first season's conclusion. Production for the second season is scheduled to begin this month in Belfast and Northern Ireland, with a two-part special expected in December and the full six-episode season to follow in 2027.
